(Webinar) Bullying and Special Education: Understanding the Intersection of Labels, Services, and Interventions
October 5 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT
Bullying has become a pervasive problem facing the nation’s youth. Students with disabilities are disproportionality involved within the bullying dynamic. Given the overrepresentation of this subset of youth, it is critical to understand the predictive and protective factors related to bullying involvement. Therefore, this session will highlight the prevalence of bullying among youth with disabilities, explore predictive and protective factors, and review current intervention efforts.
Following this webinar, participants will:
- Understand the prevalence of bullying involvement,
- Identify predictive and protective factors associated with perpetration and victimization, and
- Recognize evidence-based practices related to decreased involvement and increased skill development among youth with disabilities
