School Choice Rally on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON (Monday, Jan. 23, 2017) — Rep. Luke Messer (R-IN) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) will host a School Choice Rally with 250 students on Capitol Hill tomorrow,  Jan. 24, as part of National School Choice Week. 

Hundreds of students, parents, advocates and legislators will join together to celebrate School Choice Week, which runs Jan. 22-28, and efforts to expand education options for all children.

Messer will serve as Master of Ceremonies during the rally. Messer is the founder and co-chair of the Congressional School Choice Caucus, alongside Sen. Scott.

Senior at Archbishop Carroll High School Malik Washington, Founder and Head of Richard Wright Public Charter School Dr. Marco Clark and President of Public School Options Tillie Elvrum will speak at the rally.

Congressional leaders speaking at the rally include House Speaker Paul Ryan, House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), Deputy Whip Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC), House Education and the Workforce Committee Chair Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chair Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN).
