(DC) Empowered Educators

June 6 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm EDT

Education leaders from the United States and around the world will gather in Washington, DC, to discuss the groundbreaking new study Empowered Educators, the result of three years of research from world-renowned education researcher Linda Darling-Hammond.

This landmark project explores how high-performing education systems across the globe construct coherent systems to recruit, develop and support high-quality teachers. Darling-Hammond and her team investigated education systems in seven high-performing jurisdictions – Finland and Singapore, the states of New South Wales and Victoria in Australia, the provinces of Alberta and Ontario in Canada, and the province of Shanghai in China – to discover how these systems have succeeded in building a new profession of teaching in a way that the United States has not.
