Georgia Teachers Union Head Compares School Choice to Murder

In a story for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, President of the Georgia Federation of Teachers, Verdaillia Turner, was asked what she thought about Atlanta being named one of the most school choice-friendly cities. But While no one expected her to defend the concept of school choice, no one predicted this :

“Calling Atlanta one of the most ‘choice-friendly’ cities isn’t much of a compliment,” said Verdaillia Turner, president of the Georgia Federation of Teachers.

“That’s like saying Chicago is the most murder friendly-city in the nation,” she said.

As expected the comment elicited quite a reaction.
