As reported by Education News:
Supporters and opponents of charter schools are gearing up for a fight in Atlanta, Georgia, as a referendum that would amend the state constitution to allow charter schools draws closer to a vote. The amendment, which will go on the ballot in November, was passed by the legislature this month and would allow the state to approve charter schools over the objections of the local school boards.
Angela Palm is with the Georgia School Boards Association, which opposes the bill. She says her group will focus on public meetings and speeches to groups.
